Astrid Jahnsen came to the realisation that there is no justice in her country. In Peru, she maintains, everyone has experienced the corruption, the fickleness of legal procedures and the lack of infrastructure, with women being the most exposed to these injustices that can go so far as rape. For her, the photo archive is a feminist weapon. The photographs of On Your Knees come from 18 notebooks of pornographic photos from the 1930s and erotic texts.
